If you’re looking for a great view of Bellingham Bay with outdoor seating as well as indoor, good food, a super but moderately-priced by-the-glass wine list and ambience that allows conversation, try Harborside at the Hotel Bellwether. It’s one of the best local places we’ll bet you haven’t tried – but you should, especially if you usually head to Anthony’s or Hearthfire when you’re seeking a water-view location to nosh and drink. (Nothing against either place – we love them; but when the sun comes out, so do the crowds.) Next time, try Harborside at the Bellwether. You’ll be pleasantly surprised! In the bar, try the fish taco and go for the martini. In the restaurant, both the lamb shank and the seafood risotto are good choices . . . and for a unique summer sipping wine, try the vinho verde – light and just slightly effervescent, it’s a nice change from pinot grigio.
